Chanukah/Trip to KC

I sincerely apologize for the delay in this posting. Upon returning from our trip, I came down with a sinus infection and didn't really have the energy to sit at the computer and make this post. The Sunday before we left, Gary Chetzron and his sweet girlfriend Melissa stopped by. They watched Isabella open a couple of gifts.

Here's a brief summary of our trip:

Day 1: We had an early flight so we got to KC at around 10:30a (including an hour delay). As always, Isabella was an absolute angel on the flight. Unfortunately, she ended up coming down with a cold that afternoon, so
we spent most of the day relaxing and in the evening went to my cousin Brittany's college graduation party. Isabella got to meet her Aunt Judy, Uncle Larry (my Dad's bro) and cousin Lisa for the first time. We didn't stay late though, because we needed to get Isabella in bed on time.

Day 2: This was Christmas Eve so again we spent most of the day relaxing and saving our energy for the Deutch Family Chanukah party. Isabella made out like a bandit at that party. She got so many cool toys, her first photo album and a Hebrew place-mat from Israel (her Great Aunt Judy brought that back). We brought a pack 'n play and set it up in my cousin Carey's room so Isabella could go to bed on time. It worked like a charm.

Day 3: Since today was Christmas Day, and everything was closed, we spent the day watching movies at home. It was really a lot of fun. Isabella was feeling better at this point, so she was a lot more playful. Her Papa played her some songs on the guitar and she loved every minute of it. She also attempted to play the piano. I can tell she has perfect "piano hands" (she has long fingers). That evening we went to the Shaw Family Chanukah Party. Once again, Isabella cleaned up. She got a new baby Madame Alexander doll and a Border's gift certificate to buy new books. We brought the pack 'n play over to my grandparents' so once again she could get to bed on time. Not only did she sleep well until we left, but the guys even moved a TV out the room she was sleeping in and she didn't wake up. I guess sometimes she's a sound sleeper.

Day 4: We decided to run some errands since the weather was nice and warm (upper 60s). We had lunch at Fiorella's Jack Stack BBQ (yummy yummy) and shopped at Halls on the Plaza. I found some really good bargains there, so of course I was happy! We went from there to visit my Dad at work. He loves seeing his "Izzybelly." That night we stayed home and relaxed.

Day 5: Today we went to have our family pictures (minus Meagan who opted out) taken. Isabella got to take pictures with her "Cuddles" (a stuffed bear David brought back from New York a few months ago) which made her very happy. We went from there to her Great Grandma Betty's where we ate Winsteads (again - yummy) and Isabella rode a little horsey for the first time. As you'll see in the video below, it was adorable. That night David and I went on a date and left Isabella with her Mimi and Papa and Aunt Meagan. We saw the movie Doubt (kind of boring, but the acting was good) and then went to Gorozzo's for dinner. The food was, yet again, YUMMY! It was nice to have some alone time with David for once. It actually snowed for about 5 minutes, so that was a nice treat.

Day 6: We watched the Chiefs stink up the place (which hopefully will lead to the Pioli family moving to KC) and then we headed over to Grandma and Grandpa Ray's house to visit with them. Isabella tried crawling, but wasn't too successful (but then again, you all know how this story ends if you read the last post).

Day 7: We spent most of the day doing laundry and getting ready for our flight that night. It was hard to leave - and there were some tears shed - but it was nice to gt home. I was sure since Isabella was still a little congested the flight home would be a nightmare. I was wrong. She slept from takeoff to landing. It was SO nice. She was an angel. We got home around 11:30p and all three of us slept in on Tuesday morning.
